African specialty coffee · roasted in Kreis 5
“ours.” As in our soil, our harvest, our cup.
A roastery and coffee window at Heinrichstrasse 108. Espresso and V60 through the window, freshly roasted beans to take home — regeneratively grown, hand-sorted, and bought at fairer prices from farming families across Africa.
Not in Zürich? Every coffee we pour is roasted, bagged and posted.
The list
We buy whole micro-lots — sometimes one family’s entire harvest. A few hundred bags, and then that coffee is gone for good. The list hears first.
Take it home
Everything we pour through the window is also available roasted and bagged. Pick whichever suits you — both go out from the same small-batch roast.
Freshly roasted African beans delivered on your own schedule, ground for your brewer or whole. Pause, skip or cancel whenever you like.
Buy a single lot with no commitment — the same beans we serve, roasted in small batches and shipped fresh. Perfect for trying an origin before you commit.
Or skip the post entirely and buy a bag at the window — every coffee we serve is on the shelf.
Why Yedu
Our coffees come from farms that feed their soil instead of stripping it — families who have nurtured the same land for generations. You can taste the difference living soil makes.
We pay well above commodity price for meticulously hand-sorted Arabica and Robusta from exclusive lots. Better pay, better sorting, better coffee — in that order.
Everything is roasted in-house at Heinrichstrasse 108, in batches small enough that we know each one by name. What you buy was green coffee days before.
“Yedu” means ours — because this coffee belongs to the people who grow it, the people who roast it, and the people who drink it.
Before you ask
Tuesday to Friday, 12:00–16:00, at Heinrichstrasse 108 in Zürich Kreis 5. Closed Saturday to Monday. The band at the top of this page shows whether we are pouring right now.
They are African micro-lots: regeneratively grown, hand-sorted twice, and bought well above commodity price directly from the farming families who grow them. We buy whole lots, so when one has been roasted through, that coffee is gone.
Yes — the good kind. Hand-sorted fine robusta from African smallholders brings body, crema and a depth that arabica alone cannot, and it is what makes the Traditional espresso what it is. We never hide it, and the percentages are printed on the menu.
If you drink coffee most days, the subscription works out cheaper per cup and always arrives fresher, and you can pause or cancel whenever you like. If you would rather taste an origin first, buy a single bag.
Yes — subscriptions and single bags both ship nationwide. You can also collect at the window on Heinrichstrasse and skip the postage entirely.
We can grind for espresso, filter or V60. Whole beans keep their flavour far longer, so if you own a grinder we would always suggest those.
It is stored by us, in Switzerland, and used only to tell you about new lots and openings. We never sell or share it, there is a one-click unsubscribe in every email, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time by writing to info@yedu.coffee.
Find the window
In the middle of Kreis 5 — a short walk from Limmatplatz. Look for the green bags in the window. It is exactly that: a window, not a café, so there is nowhere to sit.
